The salary scale for this grade is £18,057 to £20,701. If successful, your salary will be negotiated with you following which further increases will depend upon the outcome of our annual pay negotiation.

If so, the Digital Services Apprenticeships can offer you the first step towards a career in the IT profession.
The Digital Services Apprenticeship is a 2 year Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship studying for one of the following:
• Information Security
• Software Development
What qualification and training you’ll get
You’ll study for a Level 4 apprenticeship in one of the following:
• Higher Apprenticeship in Information Security
• Higher Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals
You’ll spend 80% of this time developing your skills at Companies House and 20% learning through a combination of:
• classroom training at Bridgend College
• online learning
• completing assignments
To achieve your Level 4 apprenticeship certificate, you’ll need to successfully complete all your work, assignments, exams and produce a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates all the competencies included in the standard.
If you’re successful in your Level 4 qualification, you could move to a degree level apprenticeship in either cyber security or software development. You could also have an opportunity for a permanent position in our Software Development or Cyber and Information Security team.
You’ll also receive on the job training and support from the digital profession within Companies House.
What you’ll do as a Digital Services apprentice
You’ll work alongside IT professionals in teams across Companies House who are making our services and websites better. You’ll work in our different digital departments including:
• software development
• IT support
• cyber and information security
You’ll also develop skills and knowledge in:
• website development
• cyber and Information Security
• business analysis
• Agile working
• communication skills
• organisational skills
This will help you decide on which role you will choose for your future career.
If you already hold a qualification in an IT related subject at Level 4 or above, you are not eligible to apply. This is due to funding restrictions.

To apply, you’ll need to complete an online numeracy test and include a Personal Statement answering the following questions:
1. Think about an example of technology which improves an aspect of daily life (for example a new app, a device or a website). In no more than 500 words, tell us how you think technology improved the aspect of daily life and what you think the positive and negatives are of this example.
2. At Companies House we’re always keen to improve the way we do things. Tell us about a time when you’ve identified something that needs improvement and how you resolved it. (300 words)
3. You will need to communicate your ideas through a range of methods at Companies House. Please give us an example of how you have shared an idea with others. (300 words)
Once you’ve submitted your application form, the selection process will consist of the following stages :
Stage 1 - First stage sift on Question 1 and eligibility checks
Stage 2 - Second stage sift on Questions 2 and 3
Stage 3 - Interview/activity and vetting (Week commencing 4th November)
Candidates will be required to undertake an activity as part of the selection process.
